
With TV+, Cast and Headend, the hotel has modernised its infrastructure with cutting-edge technology, leveraging existing TVs to ensure efficiency, sustainability and a consistent experience.
The Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro, a symbol of sophistication in Barra da Tijuca and part of the prestigious Hyatt group, embarked on an ambitious technological upgrade project with a focus on comfort, personalisation and innovation. With 436 rooms, the hotel was looking to improve its entertainment and connectivity offer, without compromising operations or the guest experience.
The Challenge
The main challenge was to update the TV infrastructure in a hybrid environment, with different models and brands of devices, ensuring a smooth transition without service interruptions or impact on the guest experience. In addition, it was essential to offer guests the flexibility to access their own content, such as streaming services, and to have a partner capable of integrating these solutions with third-party systems, such as automation, housekeeping and room service, always with a focus on operational efficiency and service excellence.
Nonius end-to-end solutions
To meet the project requirements, Nonius’ local team delivered a complete solution, with a hybrid and scalable infrastructure, carefully planned for the reality of the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro. From conception to ongoing support, including network design, third-party integrations, equipment supply and installation, Nonius was responsible for all stages of the project, guaranteeing excellence and continuity with 24/7 support.


Nonius TV+: Implemented on LG Pro:Centric TVs and on Cast Dongles with multi-brand TVs, it offers an interactive experience with access to useful information and entertainment, integrated with Oracle’s Opera PMS. It also includes integrations with Amadeus HotSOS for housekeeping requests, with Shiji for Room Service requests, as well as a future integration for temperature control via TV, further enhancing guest personalization.

Nonius Cast: Guests can securely and easily stream their own content, such as Netflix and YouTube, directly to the in-room TV. The solution provides a personalised and comfortable entertainment experience, with the same convenience of being at home.



Nonius Headend: Converts channels to IP, offers a wide categorised selection of channels and usage data, allowing the hotel to identify the most watched channels. It optimizes operational costs and delivers diverse entertainment aligned with guest preferences.
