Nonius is delighted to partner with The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where the first Oscars took place on May 16th, 1929. In order to improve guest experience Nonius updated the existing TV system to a full interactive TV and implemented a Cast system allowing guests to stream their own content on the room TVs.

In its early years, the hotel has played host to countless icons: Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, among others. It served as an inspiration for filmmakers and creatives who have set their movies within this storybook backdrop. Nowadays, this iconic hotel continues receiving many celebrities and important events standing out as one of the most famous and historic hotels in Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA.

The hotel was ranked by Condé Nast Traveler among the Top 10 Hotels in LA.

To keep up with the most recent trends for guest technology, the hotel chose Nonius to update their TV system and Casting ability. The TV and Cast products were installed to provide a smart guest experience.

Interactive TV

Nonius reused the hotel’s existing LG Pro:Centric Smart TVs, bringing a new life to the TV system, with an easy to use, content rich Nonius Interactive TV Middleware. In addition to that, new Samsung Hospitality Tizen TVs were installed. The Free to Guest TV headend was reused making this a very cost effective implementation.

Adding to high quality content, communication between guest and hotel is also simpler and faster, thanks to Nonius Interactive TV.


The wow factor of the project is the Cast feature implemented that allows guests to stream their content to the in-room TV. Guests only need to be connected to the Hotel Guest Wi-Fi and, like at home, they will be able to stream content to the TV.

The pairing between the TV and the guest’s device is established simply and easily.

Nonius integrated this product with the third-party GIA/HSIA solution, proving again capability, flexibility and openness to work with other market players.

Project roll-out

This project was done by Nonius USA with the assistance of local partners. The team involved was composed of highly qualified technical staff with experience in hospitality. Nonius provides 24x7x365 proactive technical support and local support on demand.

The Nonius Cloud Dashboard is available for the property’s IT Managers to track the status of the Guest Technology Services and provides analytics on status, usage and statistics of all products used by guests.
